Cognitive behavioral techniques help to improve the communications skills they need to strengthen the relationship and begin working toward a common goal.  Cognitive Therapy involves a collaborative effort between psychologist and clients to examine and understand negative thought patterns and behaviors that are related to the emotional and behavioral disturbance. Individuals are often able to quickly gain insight and improve their awareness of irrational thought and learn to challenge these core beliefs. With this self-awareness, clients are able to improve their relationships with loved ones.
